Hey everyone. Sorry if this is not the right area for this thread, I'm still new to these forums...

Anyway, I'd like to start of by saying hello to you all. I've been playing Guild Wars for a month or so now, though I'm more of a casual player (real life is busy, busy

) And this is one of my first actual posts on the GWguru forums.

Well, just a few minutes ago, I was playing PvP in the team arenas with a really cool group of guys and we were doing pretty well. Then all of a sudden we came up against a group of insane people. They whooped our butts like it was nothing....however, a few things stood out in my mind...

For one, I (a healer monk) was taken out in just a single hit by a W...over and over and over again. [This was a priest match where you get rezzed...] How is this possible? The guy was just a simple warrior; didn't use any skill or anything...just hit me with his weapon and boom! I'm dead, one hit. Every time I rez, this guy pops up and byebye for me.

Another thing wrong was this: Another member of their party was a W/E. This doesn't sound so bad eh? We've all seen warrior/elems....but have you ever seen one that could do Mesmer spells?!? Yeah! At this point, his mesmer buddy was in fact dead, and he was doing mesmer spells just like he was one.

Pretty much everything about this match shouted "cheats" in my mind.
However, being niave as I am, I don't really know anything about cheats, etc. in GW. So I ask you, what's the situation with cheats and hacks in guild wars? And what do we have planned to fix this?

I'm not just hallucinating, right? I mean, is there any one move that does 400+ dmg?
And is there some way to make your character do skills/spells that are from a different profession altogether?

Ah, sorry. I didn't think about it until after the match was over...while it was going on, I was just trying to stay alive.

If I ever encounter it again, I'll be quick with the screenshots.

What armor are you using? If you are using anything other than the max armor, a heavy buffed up warrior could possibly kill you that fast.

A Mesmer can use skills of a different profession through some of the "Arcane" skills, but those are almost never used in Arenas.

You should have taken some screenshots.

Uh, my armor was just the tatoo set that you get when making a pvp monk; nothing special, but certainly enough to keep me from taking a 400dmg hit from an axe, no?

No, this wasn't a Mesmer using other skills, it was a W/E using mesmer skills...

As for cheats and hacks, ANet takes this type of exploit extremely seriously. The best thing would be to contact support here. Click on the "How do I contact someone in Guild Wars support" and then follow the directions there.

By the way, which mesmer spells was the W/E using exactly?

I guess I can't really be of any help...I was too busy trying to keep myself and my teammates alive. If I ever encounter something like this again, I will be sure to get screenshots and log any information you guys might need. (Though I'm hoping I never do come across that kind of thing again).

Forgive me for saying.. but if you don't exactly remember which mesmer skills/spells.. I find it rather hard to believe. Elementalists also have spells such as Ether Renewal and Ether Prodigy that might be confused with the mesmer line (Ether Feast).

As it is.. with lack of evidence and anything else to go on, I'm going to close this thread for now. Although, my advice does stand; definitely send a report to ANet if you feel that it was a real hack. As for the thread, if anyone has an overwhelming, overpowering need to have this thread reopened, send me or another moderator a PM, and we'll consider it.
